July 9 is National No Bra Day. That’s according to some tweets and Facebook statuses that I have read. The said event was even added as “International No Bra Day” in Wikipedia’s list of international observances (no longer listed as of Oct 13, 2012). However, there is no official Wikipedia page written about it.

I actually have no idea about the authenticity of National No Bra Day, but as I have read some information on the web about studies which show that women who wear bras for a longer period of time are more prone to breast cancer, I came to think that the probable idea behind this event originates from those conducted studies.

As the name of the event implies, the 9th of July is the day for women to unleash and set free those magnificent parts of their bodies by not wearing bras under their shirts for 24 hours. In my opinion, National No Bra Day is like some sort of a breast cancer awareness campaign. Just my opinion.
